Ok, so we have a lot of opinions on this one. First off, please do not all dress alike. BUT color coordination is cool – just please make it natural for your group. Let everyone wear something they would actually wear. It’s about photographing your family – who they are
– and most of us DO NOT go through our lives wearing khaki and white. Let your family be themselves, and you’ll see the photographs will show it’s worth it.
Every beach access will require a some walking in the sand. Most of the beaches where we shoot will have a board walkway as well. If someone in your group has mobility issues, please let us know. We can help make arrangements for transportation/location adjustments.
We are a two photographer portrait team. We’ll match you with the photographer that most fits your group. Your client site will list your photographer.
There is no need to arrive too early – your photographer will arrive about 5 minutes prior to the scheduled session time.
While you may want to wear shoes when walking to the beach, we recommend to not wear shoes during the session.
Our sessions are a blend of formal and candid photography. You’ll stand and sit for formal portraits, and then we’ll “break loose” for candid and playful time on the beach.
If it helps you organize the troops, but it’s not necessary.
You will get sandy. You will get your feet wet. Bring a towel to wipe your feet off before you get in the car, and a change of clothes is always a good idea!
Once you book your session we’ll provide you with a thorough list of what to expect and how to prepare for your Outer Banks Family Portrait Session.
